Despite your best efforts, you notice that wrinkles have come. They are at your eyes, perhaps around your mouth.
You might be confused, especially if you do everything right — you don’t smoke, you eat right, you exercise, use good quality skin care. But still you have wrinkles. Don’t fret. There are many things you can do to treat the wrinkles and reduce their appearance.
Surgery
This is the costliest and more invasive option, but many women seek a variety of surgeries to get rid of wrinkles. They might have a face lift, or a simple eye lift. But you might not know that there are many other options for getting rid of wrinkles.
If you aren’t interested in full blown surgery, you can opt for other surgical wrinkle treatment methods. You might choose laser surgery, which can remove wrinkles and fine lines through the use of lasers that just barely invade the surface of the skin.
Other options that require the help of a doctor but aren’t full-on surgery include chemical peels and chemical washes. Many people think of these as being designed primarily for acne and other skin problems, but chemical peels can also remove that top layer of dried and old skin revealing new, fresher (and wrinkle-free) skin underneath.
Botox
You might consider this a kind of surgery, since it’s performed with needles, but it can also be performed just about anywhere, from your kitchen to a mall to a doctor’s office. So, while it does involve needles, most people don’t consider it surgery.
Botox involves the injection of the botulism virus into the skin. The Botox actually stops nerve impulses from reaching the muscle which causes the muscle to relax, and wrinkles to reduce in appearance.
Fillers
Botox qualifies as a filler, though there are others you might choose to have. Again, fillers do involve the injection of a product through a needle, but they are much less invasive than surgery.
You might choose, for example, collagen filler. Collagen is found naturally in the body, and provides support to bones and muscles. Over time, the amount of collagen in our body naturally decreases, and can cause our skin to look older, saggy and more wrinkled. By getting collagen filler, you can replace some of that natural collagen.
Other fillers include Juvederm, Restylane, Fascian (which isn’t collagen but is thought to stimulate the production of collagen).
Anti-wrinkle creams
If you aren’t interested in any of these options, you can certainly just choose to use a good quality wrinkle cream. Or you can use a cream in conjunction with any of these efforts, because after you have injections or surgery, you will want to maintain any benefits through the use of an anti aging cream.
When you consider an anti-wrinkle of eye lift cream, be sure to find one that provides immediate (or near immediate) results, as it’s not necessary to wait weeks to see results from the use of a good wrinkle cream. Also look for a cream that has properties which will help to keep the skin healthy (like antioxidants and other age fighters).
As with anything in life, you can deal with wrinkles in the simple way or the complicated way. The most important thing is that you find what’s going work for you, that fits within your personal comfort level and that it provides the results you are looking for.
